Projector Terms & Conditions

1. Eligibility

  • Must include one or or both of the following: 
    • Australian climbing location(s) 
    • Australian climber(s)
  • Entrants must be aged 16 or older. Entrants under 18 require consent from a parent or guardian.

 

2. Submission Requirements

  • Video must be no longer than 10 minutes in duration.
  • Video must be unreleased via public mediums (including YouTube, Instagram, Vimeo or film festivals), however previously aired footage may be included within the submission within reason. 
  • All submissions must be original work and must not infringe on any copyright, trademark, or third-party rights.
  • Entrants are responsible for securing permission from all individuals featured in their films.
  • By submitting your video, you confirm that you own the rights to all content (including music, images, and footage) or have permission to use it, and that your submission does not infringe on the rights of any third party.

3. Rights Granted to Open Project
By submitting a film, entrants grant Open Project:

  • A non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to host, display, stream, distribute, and share the film (in full or in part) on the Open Project website, Instagram, YouTube, and other digital platforms.
  • The right to cut, adapt, edit, and repurpose submissions into short-form content (e.g., reels, clips, promotional highlights) for marketing and promotional purposes.
  • The right to use still images, screenshots, and excerpts of films in promotional materials, advertising, and press releases.

4. Judging & Prizes

  • Submissions will be reviewed by a judging panel (to be announced) and by community vote.
  • Winners will be chosen through a combination of judging panel decisions and community votes, as detailed on the competition webpage.
  • Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
  • Open Project reserves the right to amend prize details if necessary.

 

5. Liability

  • Entrants retain ownership of their films but agree to the rights outlined in Section 3.
  • Open Project will not be held liable for any legal disputes arising from submitted content, including but not limited to copyright violations, privacy concerns, or unlicensed use of music or imagery.
  • Entrants agree to indemnify Open Project against any claims brought forward in relation to their submissions.

 

6. General Conditions

  • Open Project reserves the right to disqualify submissions that are incomplete, offensive, unsafe, previously published, or do not comply with these Terms & Conditions.
  • By entering, entrants agree to abide by these Terms & Conditions and the decisions of the judging panel, which are final.
  • Open Project reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend the competition if unforeseen circumstances arise.

7. Agreement
By submitting a film, entrants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
